The National Cancer Prevention Week falls every year around March 21st; it is supported by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.
According to the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR), over 30% of all cancers are directly related to food intake, both in terms of quantity and quality. Several studies have confirmed the significant role of food in the development of certain types of cancer, as well as the ability of others foods to prevent cancer formation.
This means that a large percentage of cancers could be prevented simply by adopting a proper diet and through careful selection of foods.
Therefore, health is gained first of all at meal time.
